A Sassy Night Out: Dining Near Kiva’s Jewel

(April 05, 2026) If you are looking for the perfect dinner spot during your stay at Kiva’s Jewel – Guest House, look no further than Sassy Bass Amazin’ Grill Located at 5160 Highway 180 in Gulf Shores, this local family-friendly and kid-friendly favorite is an absolute must-visit. With a motto like “Life's too Short to be boring” we expected fresh creative inspiring food. We were not disappointed.

The best part? It took our Living Hearty GO! family less than 10 minutes to get there from the guest house, making it an ideal spot for a quick and delicious evening out.

The Vibe & Service

We arrived after 7:00 PM on March 31st and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is incredible—think ambient, colorful lighting with green, yellow, and blue lights strung across the roof. When we took our photos, the whole room glowed with a beautiful, warm amber hue.

A huge shoutout to Sherika, who took care of us that night. She was amazing, provided fantastic recommendations, and got every single detail right.

The Living Hearty Menu Recap

The portions were generous, the prices were affordable, and every bite was a hit: Bayou Dip with Pita bread

• The Bayou Dip: A cheesy, delicious appetizer served with crunchy pita bread. It had the perfect amount of cream and just the right "kick" without being too spicy.
• Chilean Sea Bass: This was a standout—moist, tender, and served with a light buttery sauce and a fresh lemon wedge.
• Ahi Tuna: Served on a bed of lettuce with a zesty vinaigrette and topped with crispy fried onions. It was so good, we almost ordered a second one!
• The Kids' Cheeseburger: Featuring gooey, melted cheese and served with "gorgeous" potato wedges that were perfectly seasoned and extra crunchy.
• The Sides: Don't skip the fluffy mashed potatoes or the sautéed squash and vegetables.
• To Drink: We highly recommend the homemade grapefruit lemonade and sweet tea.
